TBS’s Inspiring Guest with Sammy Obeid
published on 16.09.19
What is the TBS Inspiring Guest project?
The concept of this ground-breaking project involves welcoming interesting, original, engaging, accomplished – in other words, inspiring – guests to collaborate on innovative e-learning content to increase student engagement and advancement.
Winner of the 2019 TBS Eureka prize for Pedagogical Innovation, this project was launched by two TBS Professors from the School’s Economy and Finance Department, Professors Elie GRAY and David STOLIN.
In line with TBS’ new tagline “Inspiring Education, Inspiring Life”, TBS Inspiring Guest injects more creativity, more fun and risk-taking into TBS’ organizational DNA.
Who is our first TBS Inspiring Guest?
From 16th to 20th September 2019, we have the honor of welcoming Sammy OBEID, a California-based standup comedian, best known for his 1001-day streak of consecutive comedy performances… a world record. Aside from his comedic talents, Sammy is a UC Berkely graduate (Double Major in Business and Applied Statistics) and experienced with tutoring inner-city kids.
His teaching and communication skills and his analytical comedy style make him the perfect first TBS Inspiring Guest.
What is the plan for the TBS Inspiring Guest week?
e-Learning video shooting, workshops with professors, meeting with students, a one-man standup comedy show, and other surprises will punctuate this first edition of the TBS Inspiring Guest week.
